Welcome to the WireLS Special Events pages, these
pages are for competitions that don't fall into the Tour category use
the navigation links to the left to browse to the Aces Club, Shot of
the year or Blackwell Cup pages..
Aces Club - this is where you can marvel at the ultimate shot in golf. This is the home for all Aces scored in everything at WireLS. We have an Archive section going back some 5 years.
Shot of the year - a new event launched in 2007, again there will be a prize on offer or this one. The idea behind the event is really quite simple, if you shoot a great shot you simply send it to chris@wirels.org.uk, your shot will be posted along with any others that are submitted. Each player can have a maximium of three live shots on display at any one time, giving you the chance, to replace one shot with another if you think it has a better chance of winning. In December each year a forum poll will invite members to view the shots and select their one, two, three. The shot with the most votes wins the player who made the shot the gift voucher to spend at Play.com.
Blackwell Cup - the premier competition at WireLS. Named after the Club Founder, this event sees players from all over the World take on the English members of the Club, in rounds of fourball, singles and foursomes. The event is played over three weeks in November each year. There is no qualifying for this event, any Club member who wishes to play is guaranteed a game
